Parents have rights over their children, but children also have rights over their parents, as Allah has commanded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones.”<\/em>
(Quran, 66:6)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Each of you is a shepherd, and each of you is responsible for his flock.”<\/em>
(Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Children\u2019s Rights Over Their Parents:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. Choosing righteous parents<\/strong>: A pious spouse ensures a strong foundation for the child’s upbringing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Providing essential needs<\/strong>: Food, shelter, clothing, and a good name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Religious and moral education<\/strong>: Teaching Islamic values, protecting their faith, and preparing them for an honorable life.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Ibn al-Qayyim emphasized that neglecting children\u2019s upbringing often leads to their deviation, harming their life in this world and the hereafter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Finally, even if parents fail in their duties, children must always treat them with kindness, as Allah has commanded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    “Be grateful to Me and to your parents.”<\/em>
    (Quran, 31:14)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
